Biography

Ms. Dhar is a passionate academician and researcher, with expertise in Women’s Studies. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D. from Vidyasagar University. Her academic journey began with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Presidency College (Calcutta University) in 2012. She went on to complete her Master’s degree in Political Science from Presidency University in 2014.
She started her teaching career at Sarojini Naidu College for Women in 2016, where she taught Political Science Honours and General courses to undergraduate students.
Apart from teaching, she has also been actively involved in research. She worked as a Research Assistant for a UGC-DEB Project at Netaji Subhas Open University from 2015 to 2016, where she worked on the topic of “Status of the Students Enrolled in NSOU”. She also has experience in the corporate world, having worked as a Summer Intern at State Bank of India, Commercial Branch in Kolkata in 2013, where she worked on the topic of “Status of the Jute Industry”. She is a lifetime member of the West Bengal Political Science Association. She was an Interviewer on the Teacher Interview Board of Kendriya Vidyalaya Ordinance Factory, Dum Dum. She also serves as an Examiner & Scrutineer at West Bengal State University and Netaji Subhas Open University.
Her passion for teaching extends beyond the classroom, and she is also engaged as a Faculty of General Studies for Competitive Examinations in the online platform “e-Learning Channel West Bengal” organized by the Directorate of Employment, Government of West Bengal. She has also been teaching as a faculty of Indian Polity in various renowned competitive examination institutes across Kolkata.
In addition to her academic and professional pursuits, Ms. Dhar has several hobbies. She is a trained Indian classical singer and enjoys composing music. She is also an avid reader of academic and literary works.
Ms. Dhar is proficient in English, Hindi, and Bengali, and has a typing speed of 35wpm. Ms. Dhar passed the West Bengal State Eligibility Test conducted by West Bengal College Service Commission on the first attempt in 2022. She has also appeared in the W.B.C.S Prelims in 2017, 2018, and 2019, and the W.B.C.S Mains in 2018 and 2019.
