She is presently working as an associate professor in the department of Economics of Sarojini Naidu College For Women. She passed B.Sc (Hons.) from Scottish Church College of Calcutta University in 1991 and M.Sc with specialisation in Statistics and Econometrics from Calcutta University in 1993. She passed the State Level Eligibility Test in 1994 and joined the college in the substantive post in the department of Economics in February 17, 1997.
